I work in the copper foil method of stained glass, often describing glass as my “paint.” Limited by the unique aspects of each sheet, I purposefully break out pieces to illuminate details within my designs, which are enhanced by the glass.

Alternative Glass Work

Push for Equality: Where Do You Stand?
2019
Triptych work of art, Bottom: Mosaic, Middle: Mirrored Graphic, top: Glass sculpture.
A glass mobile of a window you can break by pressing on a piston shaped like a fist. A graphic of glass breaking that questions where you stand in the glass ceiling experience. Are you breaking the ceiling, or standing in the way of someone? A mosaic on the floor of someone punching up to shatter the glass window

Top: Push For Equality: Where Do You Stand?
Kinetic glass sculpture where you push a fist that goes through a window, essentially breaking it.

- Image of the mobile at its pre-breaking point
- Close-up of the piston knuckle push mosaic
- Mosaic of a person punching the glass ceiling, trying to break it
- Large versions of the front and back of the fist. A smaller version is attached to the piston and goes through the mobile, breaking the glass ceiling
